Pale yellow hanging flowers with a wine-red flush to the base of the thick, spongy tepals when grown in full sun. The young stems, leaf and flower stalks are a shiny dark purple colour. Flowers on old wood with some later flowers on the new growth as the season progresses. The flowers are followed by attractive seed-heads. 'Lemon Bells' was a selection made by the University of British Colombia Botanical Garden in 1992 from South Korean seed collected in 1988.
Previously known, and widely described, as
chiisanensis 'Lemon Bells'.
