Clematis 'Avalanche' (Lemoine)

Not to be confused with the modern cultivar AVALANCHE ™ 'Blaaval'. According to Magnus Johnson's research, this was a double, yellow-white cultivar with green spots and a straw-coloured central bar. This name appears in Spingarn's 1935 lists but the form now seems lost to cultivation. If you know otherwise, or have further details, please get in touch.
