Sweetly scented, pure white nodding flowers, occasionally tinged blue at the base, with white or yellow anthers. The Toomey and Leeds 'Encyclopedia of Clematis' wrongly attributes this form to Stanley Zubrowski of Canada (as did we for a while). Mr Zubrowski says this is not the case and that the form "had been around for ever" His recollection is that he obtained some seeds through the Canadian Department of Agriculture's experimental farm at Ottawa. The whitest of the seedlings he sent off to Magnus Johnson in Sweden who propagated it and introduced it to the market.
