Clematis 'Peveril Peach' (1983)

Small, nodding flowers. Inside pinky-red shading to peach near base, outside purple with pinkish white margins. Barry Fretwell raised this cultivar which he named 'Peveril Peach' in 1983. It was withdrawn after trials. The name seems later to have been applied to another plant, yet later re-named 'Sonnette'. This, the older form, was subsequently marketed in Germany under the name viorna 'Peveril Peach'.
