Clematis 'Perle d'Azur'

Semi-nodding, flattish, pale blue flowers with yellow anthers. The tepals have a deep midrib with a pink-purple flush towards the base. The variety has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. William Robinson writes in his book 'The Virgin's Bower' (1912), "The beauty of [this hybrid] cannot be described in words."
