Small violet-blue flowers with darker ribs on the back. Star-shaped, slightly nodding, open bell-shaped to almost spreading. Yellowish-white stamens. The breeder places this in the diversifolia group which the International Clematis Register and Checklist 2002 includes within the integrifolia group.
