Clematis 'Purpurea Plena Elegans'
Reddish-purple double flowers in profusion. The colouring of this cultivar is difficult to put into words, appearing like that of a deep red flower which has faded slowly in the sun. Believed to have been raised by Morel c.1900. The variety has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Beware confusion with 'Evifour' which is also sold under the trade name ROYAL VELVET.
